01Who we are
SmartLink Connections (“SmartLink,” “we,” “us”) is a master internet broker, structured-cabling contractor and network integrator based in Southern California, serving clients across the United States. For the purposes of the GDPR, SmartLink is the data controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any question about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at info@smartlinkconnections.com or 562 · 470 · 6924.
02What information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, deliver and support your project:
Information you give us
- Contact details — name, company, email, phone number.
- Project details — service address(es), speeds, circuit type, scope notes and anything else you choose to include in a quote or inquiry form.
- Correspondence — records of emails, calls and messages with our team.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring page, collected through cookies and similar technologies (only with your consent for non-essential cookies).
We do not intentionally collect special-category data (e.g. health, biometric or political data), and we ask that you do not submit it through our forms.
03How we use your information
- To respond to quote requests and project inquiries.
- To qualify carrier serviceability and prepare side-by-side circuit quotes.
- To deliver, schedule and support contracted work.
- To send service-related communications about your project or contract.
- To send marketing only where you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations.
04Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and optional marketing email. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract — to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform a contract with you.
- Legitimate interests — to run and secure our business, respond to inquiries and improve our services, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws, accounting and licensing requirements.
07Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected: inquiry data for up to 24 months if no project results; contract and project records for the life of the engagement plus the period required by tax, warranty and licensing rules. We then delete or anonymize it.
08How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege practices — to protect your data. No method of transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authority of a qualifying breach as required by law.
09Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction — limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior processing.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email info@smartlinkconnections.com. We respond within one month.
10Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

- Delete personal information we have collected, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your personal information.
